There is an attack in Last week by hackers on pointing the word press blogs and there are about 90,000 blogs are attacked. The hosting websites says that the attack may be done by guessing the passwords from brute force. Their passwords are recycled by 1000 commonly used passwords for the attack.
Most of the blogs are hosted on Small web servers and the botnet attack will add to it. Most of the commonly used login name by the blogging website using Word Press is “admin” and this added the advantage for the hackers. Matt Mullenweg, a word press founder confirms that most of the users are using “admin” as their username to login. He also recommended to change the username from admin if it is still in use which provide the simple step to save the website from hackers with basic passwords.
He also added the Two – Step Authentication could be wise for the users and if you are using it, then there will be a shield for you. The two step authentication is explained in the Word Press Website which helps you a lot.
Some of the hosting websites added the information stating that some of word press websites are in attack and our team is work on it and the issue will be solved shortly. They also added that the attack is via brute force.
